What do cyclocross, a juried art exhibition and a concert have in common? For starters, all are nonprofit events happening in the greater Philadelphia area this fall. Also, organizers for these happenings hired my company to help with marketing and public relations.
Many times, when organizations and small businesses think of publicity the first thing that comes to mind is event promotion. In the PR world, we call this getting butts in seats, i.e. making sure client events are well attended.
For me, the best benchmark to measure success is being hired to promote the events year after year.
I’m proud that my company has been called on to undertake ongoing and project-based publicity services for so many different organizations in Bucks County, Montgomery County and Philadelphia. It’s truly an honor to help promote such worthwhile causes.
Katalinas Communications’ newest project is providing PR and media relations services for Horsham Township’s first-ever Carpenter Cross Cyclocross (happening on Sept. 22). It’s an event that organizers hope will be an annual occurrence. I do enjoy a leisurely bike ride along the Power Line Trail in Horsham, but wow, the lengths cyclocross enthusiasts go to during competitions is pretty wild. I simply can’t imagine hoisting a bike over my head and carrying it over unrideable terrain. One day, maybe … if I can build up my upper body strength.
Since 2015, I have done event publicity for the Phillips’ Mill Community Association. I have been helping to promote the annual juried photography and art shows – and have come to appreciate fine art and photography even more as a result. I consider it a feather in my company’s cap to help spread awareness of the 89th annual Phillips’ Mill Art Exhibition (Sept. 22 through Oct. 28). This show has been going strong since 1929. It’s truly amazing to see the wonderful art and photography that’s submitted and selected for display in these prestigious shows.
As a mom of a creative and imaginative young daughter, any organization that supports our youth I hold dear to my heart. The same is true of the Danny DeGennaro Foundation, a client I have worked for since 2016. The Foundation fundraises to provide music and art scholarships to Bucks County Community College students. This is the third year Katalinas Communications is promoting the Foundation’s Creative Inspiration concert (Sept. 28), a fun night with plenty of live musical performances from veteran musicians, up-and-comers and scholarship award recipients.
Now that I’ve told you how I’ll be spending my fall, please share what you’re doing in the waning days of summer into fall. And, as always, if you’d like some assistance managing your marketing, public relations, social media, email marketing and graphic design, drop me a line and see how we might be able to help.
