The Center for Independent Living of Bucks County has hired Katalinas Communications to further its public relations, social media and fundraising goals. The nonprofit organization provides a variety of free services to people with disabilities who live in Bucks County.
Typically, like-minded agencies refer clients with disabilities for independent living skills training, peer support counseling, individual advocacy and more. The local branch of the Center for Independent Living is largely one of the region’s best kept secrets.
That’s where Theresa Katalinas comes in.
Following on the heels of the PR success she has accomplished with SCORE Bucks County, another not-for-profit client, the Center for Independent Living of Bucks County sought out Katalinas Communications to build greater awareness of its services, mission and to help expand upon its fundraising initiatives.
Since starting her own business in 2014, Theresa and her team have provided professional writing services, public relations and media relations, as well as fundraising appeal writing, sponsorship creation, graphic design and social media management services to more than a dozen nonprofit organizations in the greater Philadelphia area.
After leaving behind her journalism career, Theresa started out on her own by sharing the story of Camp Rainbow Inc., a Montgomery County summer camp that provides week-long camping experiences for deserving children. Her skill in coordinating an interview for KYW Newsradio 1060, as well as a segment on the Philadelphia Agenda radio program and coverage in local print publications led to the camp receiving a much-needed $10,000 donation and strengthened community support.
A sponsorship package written and designed for the Delaware Valley Historical Aircraft Association aided in a $100,000 contribution and greater awareness of expansion plans for the Wings of Freedom Aviation Museum in Pennsylvania.
Katalinas Communications continues to share the mission of a variety of nonprofit organizations, including the Bucks County Wine Trail, the Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation, Montgomery County Community College, Phillips’ Mill Community Association, Camp Rainbow Inc. and SCORE Bucks County, among others.
